About the Journal

Water Conservancy and Hydropower Technology Research (WCHTR) aims to publish high-quality, peer-reviewed research related to water conservancy, hydropower engineering, sustainable water resource management, and renewable energy technologies.

The journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, engineers, environmental scientists, policymakers, and industry practitioners to share innovative studies, technological advancements, and sustainable solutions addressing global challenges in water systems, hydropower generation, environmental protection, and climate resilience.

WCHTR encourages both theoretical and applied research that supports sustainable infrastructure development, energy security, ecological conservation, and efficient utilization of water resources.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Hydropower Engineering and Renewable Energy Systems (including low-carbon hydropower and green water infrastructure)
  • Water Resource Management and Conservancy
  • Hydraulic and Water Infrastructure Engineering
  • Environmental Sustainability and Ecosystem Protection (covering eco-hydraulics, river ecological restoration, water pollution control, and ecological remediation)
  • Climate Change, Flood and Disaster Management (including hydraulic disaster prevention and risk assessment)
  • Smart Water Technologies, Digital Monitoring Systems, and Intelligent Operation & Maintenance
  • Hydrology, Sedimentation and Water Quality Studies
  • Policy, Governance and Sustainable Development in Water and Energy (including water-energy-food nexus research)
