新的目的地与墨西哥裔儿童的幼儿教育之间的关系
摘要
资源和长期教育的不平等,并为目的地如何塑造墨西哥裔家庭的融合提供一个宝贵的方向。作者将来自幼儿纵向研
究-出生队列的数据与来自十年一次的人口普查的县级数据相结合,多级逻辑回归模型显示,如果墨西哥裔,黑人
和白人儿童居住在新的拉丁裔目的地,那么他们参加幼儿教育计划的几率较低。尽管对家庭选择性、州和地方幼儿
教育环境、拉丁裔教育程度、拉丁裔-白人居住隔离和移民执法协议进行了控制,但新的目的地与幼儿教育入学率
之间的关系依然存在。在墨西哥裔亚组中,以父母出生、居住时间、公民身份和英语熟练程度来衡量,在文化程度
最低的家庭中,新的目的地和既定目的地之间的入学差距最大。这些发现强调了在拉丁裔人口中数量庞大且不断增
长的墨西哥裔有很强的地方和文化适应能力。
